Author: Zlatan Ibrahimović with David Lagercrantz
Far better written than most player memoirs, it follows Ibrahimović from a tough childhood in Malmö to Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona and Milan. Arrogant, funny and full of stories about famous coaches. It sold more than 500,000 copies in Sweden within months, and the English edition was shortlisted for the 2013 William Hill Sports Book of the Year. The Guardian’s Richard Williams called it possibly the “most compelling autobiography ever to appear under a footballer’s name”. One caveat: co-author David Lagercrantz later said that some of the quotes were his own creations. Best for: pure entertainment, even for readers with no interest in his clubs.
